Extend a Helping Hand

I am not sure if you have heard yet, but there is an event called Extend a Helping Hand going on in SL.  The event runs from Jan. 11th – Jan. 31st.  It was brought upon us to bring awareness of the floods and devastation going on in Australia right now.  Sanura Sakai has brought several designers (2 of which I am wearing in these photos) to help raise funds.  Please have a look at her website for more info on how to help or even if you want to know more of what is going on: http://katjohnston.com.

In better words than my own:

“-= About the Cause =-

Extend a Helping Hand is an event put together by Sanura Sakai to raise funds for the Premier’s Disaster Relief Appeal. The aim is to provide support and assistance to those Queenslanders affected by the recent massive flooding.

The flooding has already affected 22 towns, as of January 1st, and has forced many from their homes. It has had a devastating effect on many people’s lives and livelihoods. An area larger than Germany and France combined has been affected by the flood-waters, and the impact will still be felt for some time to come.

Just to give you some idea about the effect of the floods in my own home-town of Bundaberg, visit http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/Bundy-Floods-2010/176597162370872?v=photos

To read more about the Premier’s Disaster Relief Appeal, to which all funds raised by this event will go, please visit http://www.qld.gov.au/floods/. You can also donate directly, if you so desire, through the information provided on that site.”

Have a look around the Event Hall.  I am sure you will find something to your liking: http://slurl.com/secondlife/Adien/27/64/1025

Skin: Merrow – Sanu (the coordinator of the event has made this skin for the event.)

Outfit: Pink Vocal – Tarnished (I was also given Red, Green, Blue, Silver and Yellow to demo.  Pink of course was my fave.)

(FYI: hair and gas mask are not part of this event. If you would like info about them you may send me an IM or NC in-world)

Keep a look out on my blog as I blog more about the event. And spread the word out! Thank you.
